Reckon those 'shoes eyes' pics are gonna look awesome. Heres a sample of the map I'm producing, if we get some images on here of shoes it could look pretty awesome with some roll overs.

Yeah, I'm going to print a sample map and apply the footprint technique to it to see how that looks too. i think the map you've done there is detailed enough and looks just right. i think aslong as you've got the shaded area, (be it the shoe itself or a footprint,) and a piece of text telling you where that location is, it'll be sound as a pound!
